Sempra and NV Clean Energy Coalition brochures

Back in 2005, Sempra Energy proposed building a coal-fired power plant in the Smoke Creek Desert. I had lived in the Hualapai for four years, just bought my property in Gerlach, and was appointed to the Gerlach Empire Citizen Advisory Board (GECAB) by Commissioner Bonnie Weber. I joined the Nevada Clean Energy Coalition to oppose the project, which was eventually abandoned. The California Public Utilities Commission changed their rules to not allow new coal power plants to provide energy. I built a project at Burning Man, “The Granite Skunk Coal Power Plant,” to publicize the issue. At that time “BORG2” was supporting art projects as some kind of defiance to the Burning Man management, but they declined to support my project, calling it a “3D political poster.” I went on to serve on the GECAB for 15 years.

Here are the Sempra Energy and Nevada Clean Energy Coalition brochures from that time.
